Dear reader, I’m afraid I’m going to have to put all of my cards on the table.
This next topic could define our relationship.
If you don’t love the Seat Cordoba WRC, I’m afraid you and I may struggle to get along.
I have a fascination with unsuccessful rally cars. Sure, the world beaters are great, but the ones that, for whatever reason, never really fulfilled their potential deeply resonate with me.
I hope that’s not because I’m not fulfilling my potential! (He writes nervously).
The World Rally Car underdog that’s loved by all on the internet is the Škoda Octavia WRC – as proved by its popular win in DirtFish’s fan vote of the greatest World Rally Car back in 2021.
I, too, have a lot of love for the Czech taxi, but I love its Volkswagen Audi Group stablemate more. Particularly in its final Evo3 form.
Why?
It’s yellow. Seat sponsored my local rally, the Jim Clark Rally, when I was a toddler. And it was on my favorite rally computer game ever, Magnetic Fields’ Mobil 1 Rally Championship.
And the best part is, with our graphic template for the Girardo & Co. Archive picture of the week, it even looks like that game.
Perfection. Send me to heaven, thank you very much.
The picture in question by the way is Toni Gardemeister on the 2000 Tour de Corse. If you want to learn how he got on that weekend, log onto ewrc-results.com.
For once, I don’t really care. It’s a picture of a Seat Cordoba WRC Evo3, that’s more than enough for me.
