Want your say on the World Rally Championship? Now’s your chance. The FIA – the governing body of world motorsport – is running a fan survey to find out what you think of the series.
The survey, conducted by an independent agency, is part of the work of the WRC’s working group.
Leader of that group Robert Reid told DirtFish: “From South America through the Safari to northern Sweden next week, we will see spectators out on the stages and lining the road sections – this is one of the unique aspects of rallying: the fans are part of the sport’s fabric.

“We want to hear from them. We want to hear the views of the people who are watching the sport, be it live, digitally or on television – everybody has an opinion and we want to hear them all.”
As well as the regular survey, fans are also been encouraged to be part of WRC focus groups which will offer a further opportunity to help shape the future of the series.
“From the outset,” said Reid, “we didn’t just want to run a survey, we wanted to involve fans further and the focus groups will do that. Perhaps more than any other motorsport, rallying belongs to the fans, that’s been the case for more than 50 years and we want to see it continue far into the future.”
The comprehensive survey seeks opinions on all aspects of the WRC, including the format of rallies, the specification of cars, sustainability and media output.
Results from the survey will be presented to the World Motor Sport Council, along the rest of the working group’s findings, at the end of February.
