Oliver Solberg currently leads WRC2 by 18.1s over Jari-Matti Latvala, but there’s suspicion that gap may reduce with Latvala given quite a poor notional time for SS3. But regardless, Solberg is in a challenging situation as he isn’t fighting any direct championship rivals, and his closest challengers on the leaderboard are so far behind in the running order and therefore facing different stage, and more importantly weather, conditions.
“They’re starting 20 cars behind, it’s impossible to predict if it’s better or not,” Solberg told DirtFish. “Earlier it was full rain for me and then I saw on the splits they were three four seconds quicker than me on one split you know because of the rain, so it’s impossible to predict.”
