MRF has been awarded the highest environmental accolade following an audit conducted by world motorsport’s governing body, the FIA.

The Indian firm now holds Three-Star ‘best practice’ level of the FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme, recognizing its structured approach to environmental management and responsible manufacturing practices across its motorsport tire operations.

To achieve this, MRF has reduced specific power consumption, fuel consumption, water consumption and waste generation, and has measurement systems in place across key environmental impact areas including energy use, waste management, water consumption, biodiversity, air quality, noise, materials and procurement, transport, and Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions.

This recognition cements MRF’s position as a global leader in the tire industry and outlines the company’s commitment to integrating sustainability into its motorsport program while maintaining the performances standards customers have come to expect.

Arun Mammen, vice chairman and managing director, MRF Limited, said: “MRF’s global motorsport journey is powered by performance and responsibility. This FIA Three-Star accreditation reinforces our commitment to sustainable innovation, environmental stewardship and continuous improvement across our operations worldwide today.”
