First run in 1951, the Acropolis Rally is one the oldest and most famous rallies in the world. Along with events like Monte Carlo, Sweden, Portugal, Finland and GB, the Acropolis in Greece was part of the very first World Rally Championship calendar in 1973.
In that time, it was only off the calendar twice in 40 years before the event lost its slot in 2013. However, at the unfortunate expense of Rally Chile, the Acropolis returned in 2021 and is back again this year, posing teams and crews with one of the toughest, hottest and most demanding contests anywhere in the world.
Famed for its rock-strewn roads and unforgiving terrain, to win the Acropolis the driver has to be tactical and hope they avoid punctures! It’s a real test of both man and machine.
