Defending American Rally Association presented by DirtFish Champion Barry McKenna will not take part in this weekend’s DirtFish Olympus Rally, the third round of the series.
McKenna and co-driver Leon Jordan were set to compete in their latest-spec Ford Fiesta WRC for the second time this weekend but have pulled out for personal reasons.
A social media statement from the McKenna Motorsports team read: “Unfortunately Barry and Leon will not be starting [the] Olympus Rally this year due to personal family matters.
“But we wish everyone the best of luck taking part and we have a very strong field of cars under our banner.”
McKenna and Jordan are currently third in the championship after securing two third place finishes on the opening two rounds.
Travis Pastrana and Rhianon Gelsomino lead the way for Subaru Motorsports USA after winning both of the first two events.
Ken Block and Alex Gelsomino will challenge them for honors this weekend, driving a Subaru for the first time in 12 years, while there’ll be strong European interest with Josh McErlean and Keaton Williams (Hyundai i20 R5) and Callum Devine and James Fulton (Ford Fiesta Rally2) also taking part.
Devine will be competing with the McKenna Motorsports team.
The Olympus Rally comprises 14 stages and 140 competitive miles and gets underway on Saturday.
