WRC Promoter has secured a six-year agreement with Nordic broadcaster C More, which has become the first network to secure the rights to show the World Rally Championship, European Rally Championship and World Rallycross Championship.
World RX joined WRC Promoter’s portfolio in 2021 (run by sister company Rallycross Promoter) while the ERC will become the third arm next year and will be managed by WRC Promoter itself.
Both the WRC and World RX are going through a major technical ruleset change for 2022, with WRC incorporating hybrid power for the first time and World RX going fully electric.
Finnish viewers can catch all three major championships on C More from next year, although Swedish watchers have to wait until 2023 for WRC coverage.
Philipp Maenner, media rights director at WRC Promoter, called the deal a “multi-course menu for hungry fans eager to feast on three of the most exciting and action-packed motorsport series in the world”.
He added: “Finland and Sweden both have a worldwide motorsport heritage. This package gives fans the opportunity to support their heroes in three different, but equally exciting, series at almost 30 events each year.”
Coverage will be available on C More Max or via its streaming service, and is set to include live action as well as highlights packages and behind-the-scenes features.
