Adrien Fourmaux will not take part in next month’s Acropolis Rally as a result of the damage he sustained on last weekend’s Ypres Rally Belgium.
Fourmaux crashed out of Ypres on the 15th stage, running into a ditch before smacking the front of his car into a telegraph pole.
Three days after the accident, M-Sport has confirmed that the damage sustained in the crash is so significant that Fourmaux’s car will not be ready in time to take part on Acropolis in two weeks’ time.
A statement released on Twitter by the team said: “Due to his accident on Ypres Rally, it is not possible for the team to repair Adrien Fourmaux’s car in time for Acropolis Rally.
“Unfortunately it means Adrien and Alex [Coria] will not compete in Greece, the crew will travel there to take part in recce in preparation for the future.”
Fourmaux added: “I want to thank Malcolm Wilson and the whole M-Sport team for the trust and patience given to me, with the sole purpose of proving to them that together we can do great things.”
It means that M-Sport’s entry for Acropolis will now consist of five cars, with Sébastien Loeb, Jourdain Serderidis and Pierre-Louis Loubet returning to compete alongside regulars Craig Breen and Gus Greensmith.
