After stopping Autosport International visitors in their tracks with an outstanding display of cars last month, DirtFish will represent two generations of the World Rally Championship at Britain’s Race Retro event at the end of the month.
The DirtFish Ford Fiesta R5 and Renault 5 Turbo Tour de Corse will be seen at Stoneleigh Park from February 21-23.
DirtFish owner, Steve Rimmer said: “Race Retro’s a great event and one we love to support every year. I think we were all pretty taken aback by how well the display went down at Autosport – the support for that was fantastic. This is an opportunity for people in Britain to see a couple of our cars in a more natural environment: out on a stage.”
As usual, both cars will be prepared and run by BGMsport. And this time they’ll be driven by the firm’s father and daughter team Ian Gwynne and Jess Watts.
Ian added: “It’s really nice to be able to take cars from either end of the World Rally Championship; the Fiesta’s a completely modern R5 car, while the Renault Jess will drive dates back to the Eighties. Like Steve said, it’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase what DirtFish and BGMsport can do.”
Race Retro is one of Europe’s premier historic motorshows and, as well as a host of static displays, will include two stages for 120 rally cars to drive.
