Since we opened the doors to DirtFish nearly eight years ago, our rally cars have gone through a few transformations. We began instructing with a set of Prodrive-built Subaru Impreza GC8 rally cars and a handful of Hawkeye WRX STI’s that were prepared by Vermont SportsCar. Soon after that, we began phasing in the hatchback GR chassis Subaru WRX STI. All of the fabrication and upgrades on those cars were done in-house by our talented group of mechanics, fabricators and technicians.
The next evolution for DirtFish was the addition of the rear-wheel-drive Subaru BRZ. Adding a second platform with a different drivetrain allowed us to offer our customers a completely new experience to gain more confidence behind the wheel. Shortly after the addition of the BRZ, Subaru of America announced a brand new version of the WRX STI that we couldn’t wait to get our hands on. Finally that day came, and we immediately began working to convert the new sedan to rally-spec.
As we retire the old cars to make room for new models, we have continuously evolved the liveries to stand out and show off our brand. We recently decided that it was time to refresh and update the look of our cars. There are a few things we look at when it comes to designing a new livery; we look at where the gravel wears away the vinyl and paint, and as the body styles change, we need to find new places to showcase sponsor and partner branding with as few obstructions as possible.
We are proud to announce an all-new livery for our fleet of Subaru WRX STI rally cars! While orange has been the dominant color of our designs in the past, we went a different route with this design. Keeping the majority of the colors darker allowed our bright orange to stand out more, showing off the DirtFish logo and the body lines of the car. We hope you enjoy it!
