As the world moves out of March and into April, DirtFish owner Steve Rimmer has reinforced his commitment to driving the Women in Motorsport program year-around.

The last 31 days have represented DirtFish’s third annual Women’s Month and, once again, included the sensational DirtFish Women in Motorsport Summit. Delighted as he was at the progress, Rimmer was quick to point out the work won’t stop just because April’s arrived.

He said: “When we set out with the first Summit and Women’s Month three years ago, who would have thought we would be where we are today? So many people have worked so hard to make this happen. It’s exceptional.

“During the Summit, I looked around at the group of people who had joined us and felt so blessed and so honored. So many idols of mine were there with us – and so many who will become idols of mine as I’m just learning about them. And that’s really what Women’s Month and the Summit is all about, it’s not just about the past, it’s about the future as well.

“We need to support this and we will support this. The Women in Motorsport initiative is not just about one day or one month, it’s every day, every month and all-year around. And that’s our intent. I feel very thankful for what we’ve seen through March and very excited about what the future holds.”

Last month’s Summit broke previous live and streamed attendance records, with Michèle Mouton, Pernilla Solberg and Becs Williams headlining. There were innovations for this year, including technical workshops aimed at encouraging participation on the sport’s engineering side as well as driver and co-driver programs.

Stay tuned for details and availability of All-Women classes which run through the year at DirtFish and, of course, further Women in Motorsport and Summit-related developments.
