The film about Michèle Mouton, to date the only female to win a round of the World Rally Championship, has been awarded an International Emmy at the famous film awards.

Queen of Speed, released in 2021, told the incredible story of Mouton’s life and career – rising from a young girl with a dream to compete to a woman who challenged the status quo and dared to prove that she was just as quick as any of her male competitors.

Through interviews with Michèle herself, her co-driver Fabrizio Pons and her 1982 world championship rival Walter Röhrl (and our very own David Evans), Queen of Speed was highly acclaimed with an IMDb rating of over 8/10.

And now, at this week’s 50th International Emmy Awards in New York, the production won best sports documentary.

Mouton remains active in the rallying world as the FIA safety delegate, and guest editor of DirtFish during our inaugural Women’s Month in March 2022.
