The lack of a pre-event test is really irking the Frenchman, who said he had to start the rally with his Poland/Latvia setup despite those events being different to Finland.
He told DirtFish: “We used the setup we used in Poland and Latvia, which is quite different than here. Here there is more crest, the grip is different, it’s faster, we have many more corners. So, yeah, it’s different. But basically, after the two of our teams have their home test road is in Finland for us. We have not been testing, so for sure the gap is already there on the beginning of the rally. And then the two stages we used a lot, so… It shows us how important it is to test it before buying it.”
