DirtFish is delighted to announce a media partnership with history-making, record-breaking off-road racer Sara Price.
DirtFish will chart Price’s progress towards next year’s Dakar, an event widely recognized as the world’s most arduous rally, where she and co-driver Jeremy Gray will compete in a CanAm Maverick X3.
Before January’s 6000-mile Saudi Arabian adventure, the former Extreme E race winner will tackle Rallye du Maroc (October 12-18) as a test for Price’s Dakar dream.
Price said: “For as long as I can remember, being behind the wheel of an off-road vehicle in the Dakar Rally has been at the top of my bucket list of events I want to compete in.
“This is the pinnacle of motorsports in my book. This year, I promised myself I will do everything in my power to race in 2024 and now this dream is a reality.
“I’m more ready than ever and want to make America proud!”
DirtFish is already proud to be working alongside a driver of Price’s caliber. Like so many of the off-road greats, she started on a motorbike (aged eight) before switching to cars in 2012.
She holds the record for the most victories as an amateur and became the first woman to win in the SCORE International Trophy Truck Spec Championship in 2019. This year Price has already guided the CanAm to success on the Sonora Rally, Mint 400 and SCORE Baja 500.
Arguably her biggest victory – and the key to her Dakar dream – came when she won the ‘Road to Dakar’ challenge. Run by the Dakar organizer, the prize is an entry for the 15-day January marathon itself.
DirtFish’s head of strategy Josie Rimmer knows Price well, having worked together at last year’s Women in Motorsport Summit.
“Sara’s one of America’s fastest and most talented off-road racers,” said Rimmer. “The chance to share this journey to an epic event like Dakar is something very special for us.
“As well as being a great driver, Sara has already shown herself to be a great ambassador for women in motorsport – something very close to our heart here at DirtFish.”
