Just off Chancery Lane, this is legal London. Which begs the question of Sara Price’s presence in this part of town.
What’s a Dakar podium finisher doing here on an early-May Wednesday night? The next couple of hours tell the story of a story.
After winning 17 American titles on two wheels, Price was determined to chase her Dakar dream. She sold her home and set her sights on the desert, with a successful Can-Am drive that would ultimately lead her to her current position as part of the Defender factory team.
That story was made for the big screen. Welcome to Wednesday evening in London and the reveal of Warner Bros. Discovery’s three-part docuseries: ‘Sara Price: Chasing Dakar.’
Everything makes sense now. Certainly it does to the Californian.
“Being part of this documentary has given me the chance reflect on my journey to Defender Rally and my third Dakar entry [earlier this year],” she said.
“Motorsport has shaped my life in ways I’m still discovering, with the highs, the lows, the people who believed in me, and the lessons that I learnt the hard way. Sharing my story so openly is both humbling and motivating.
“I have sacrificed so much on my quest to win Dakar, which has made me push through the hard times and grateful for the good times. My hope is that viewers see, not only, the toughness of the Dakar Rally, but the resilience of the people behind it, and maybe even feel inspired to chase something they love with the same determination.”
Narrated by Emmy-winning actress, author and activist Gillian Anderson OBE, the series delves deep into Defender’s first season with the stock T2 class OCTA-based D7X-R race car. Price’s team-mates, 12-time Dakar winner Stéphane Peterhansel and Lithuanian star Rokas Baciuška, share the spotlight in what’s been an outstandingly successful start to a program which plots its course through some of world motorsport’s toughest and most uncompromising events.
Defender Rally team principal Ian James said: “We are incredibly proud to see Defender Rally featured on a global stage through this documentary. It’s a powerful reflection of the dedication, resilience and unwavering determination shown by both our drivers and the entire team.
“Every challenge we faced at the 2026 Dakar was met with a determination to succeed. Diving into Sara’s journey and understanding what she has gone through to reach her third Dakar really just brings to life her unstoppable nature and we hope that audiences recognise her sheer talent as much as we do.”
When can you watch it? If you’re in the UK and Ireland, the three episodes roll out on May 15, 16 and 17 on TNT Sports. For the USA, it’s Discovery Channel from June 4; Europe and Asia-Pacific on Eurosport from June 8 and Latin America gets it on WBD channels from June 12.
