Top American off-road racer, Sara Price, will make her World Rally-Raid Championship debut this week as she steps up her preparation for next year’s Dakar Rally.

The Rally du Maroc is a five-day event beginning on October 12 where competitors will race for just under 1400 miles through the challenging Moroccan desert.

Price will race the #410 BFGoodrich-equipped CanAm Maverick X3 in the highly competitive T4 class.

She has teamed up with navigator Jeremy Gray, who navigated with Sara where they took the win at the Sonora Rally and the California 300 this previous week.

‘‘The dream of competing in the Dakar Rally is finally happening! My Road to Dakar is officially started by racing Rallye Du Maroc as it’s the closest race to Dakar to be as prepared as possible to learn all we can our first rally ever in the World Rally Raid Championship,” Price said.

“We of course want to do well and get the results, but more than anything use this seat time to get familiar with all we can before the big one!”

In the overall T1 class, Nasser Al-Attiyah starts his final event for Toyota needing just a handful of points to become W2RC champion for the second year running.
