Ken Block will not be restarting on day two of the Lake Superior Performance Rally.

Though both were okay, after an off on an extremely slick turn on SS7 Friday night, Block and co-driver Alex Gelsomino were unable to continue the stage, and retired from the lead of the rally.

ARA Competition Director Preston Osborn confirmed to DirtFish that Hoonigan had informed him that Block will not be competing but was unable to give further detail.

Block came into the weekend leading the points battle by just two points over Subaru Motorsports USA driver Brandon Semenuk.

Both were battling in what was essentially a must-win situation, but now Semenuk just has to play it smart to earn another championship for Subaru.

However, that doesn’t mean the pressure is off. He still needs to secure 20 points this weekend in order to emerge victorious.

The slick conditions of day one on LSPR made for a difficult racing surface, leading other entrants to retire from the rally as well.
