Reigning British Rally champion Osian Pryce will take on at least the next three rounds of the European Rally Championship, driving a Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo.
Pryce, who turned 30 earlier this year, finally won the British title last season after three previous championship runner-up finishes.
But he never had any intentions of defending his title into 2023, instead targeting a progression into Europe.
That progression will start on next week’s Rally Poland before trips to Rally Liepāja and Royal Rally Scandinavia, where the Welshman will be joined by former World Rally Championship co-driver Stéphane Prevot.
“Following my success in the British Rally Championship last year, I felt the need to try something new, and take on a new challenge,” Pryce said.
“After a lot of hard work, effort and endless setbacks, I’ve managed to put a deal together to compete in the FIA European Rally Championship for the next three events at least. Taking part in Poland, Latvia, and Sweden and see how it goes!
“This year I’ll be piloting a Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo run by MAPO Motorsport. Joining me in the co-driver’s seat is former WRC co-driver Stéphane Prevot, so I’m looking forward to learning from him too.
“I’m very thankful that my loyal sponsors and supporters behind the scenes are back for more after being with me for the last two seasons and more.
“The one thing the last challenging few months has taught me is to rely on the loyal ones, they have stuck with me and kept to their words.”
Pryce has previous experience of Rally Poland from when it was a round of the WRC, with starts in 2015, ’16 and ’17.
Latvia is also a familiar battleground for him as he started his rallying career in the country when he was a 16-year-old back in 2009.
Sweden however is a country Pryce has never rallied in, although he has contested summertime Scandinavian stages twice before with previous experience of Rally Finland.
