Seventeen drivers from 10 different countries in four different kinds of Rally4 car will do battle on this weekend’s Rally Liepāja as the 2023 Junior European Rally Championship battle intensifies.
Ola Nore jr leads the championship courtesy of an impressive opening round victory in Poland, but this time round will be joined by Andreas Mikkelsen’s regular co-driver Torstein Eriksen.
The entry has been seeded in championship order, which means Norbert Maior and Victor Hansen line up second and third in their Peugeots ahead of Italian Roberto Daprà.
Miko Jalava is the top Ford seed, one spot ahead of Max McRae who will be targeting a clean run in his Racing Factory Opel Corsa Rally4 after a complicated Poland and disappointing trip home three weeks ago for the Jim Clark Rally.
Every single driver that started round one has returned for Liepāja, and actually numbers are up as Estonian driver Mark-Egert Tiits joins the party.
Ten stages – six on Saturday and a further four on Friday – comprise this year’s event where, once again, another 30 championship points will be available to the winner.
