Pierre-Louis Loubet will contest the full 2021 World Rally Championship season in a 2C Competition Hyundai i20 Coupe.

The 2019 WRC2 champion made his debut in a Rally1 car driving an i20 run by the factory team on the RallyStars section of the Rally di Roma, finishing second to Dani Sordo.

He had been due to make his top-flight WRC debut prior to that, though his program was condensed to four rounds – which later became three – at the end of the season as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic.

Loubet was already on the entry for January’s season-opening Monte Carlo Rally, and announced on Wednesday that he would contest a full campaign with 2C Competition.

From his three 2020 starts, the 23-year-old recorded a best finish of seventh on Rally Italy.

He retired from both Rally Estonia and Turkey prior to that, while fellow Hyundai junior Ole Christian Veiby took over his seat for the Monza Rally season finale.
