M-Sport World Rally Championship driver Josh McErlean will be among the stars as rallying returns to Killarney Racecourse for the first time in two decades.

Taking part in Rally Masters Ireland, the 26-year-old will pilot a Ford Focus WRC he’s previously driven at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in this show event raising money for two local charities.

McErlean told DirtFish: “They’re bringing like 50 or 60 ex-WRC or Group A cars that have been hidden away in sheds for a long time, so I’m sure there’s going to be a lot of cool machines about.

“I’m going in a WRC Focus so it’s going to be quite cool to drive this machine around the racecourse. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Joining McErlean in a star-studded roster are international names like Patrick Snijers in the iconic Bastos-liveried BMW M3 and Kalle Grundal in a Group B Ford RS200 as well as Irish legends Billy Coleman (BMW M3), Andrew Nesbitt (Mitsubishi Lancer WRC), James Cullen (Nissan 240 RS) and Stephen Murphy (Ford Escort Cosworth).

The event takes place on Saturday September 27, with gates opening at 10am before the day concludes at around 4.30pm.
