Much as we would have loved to have been bringing you our Ypres Rally build-up next week, it’s not going to happen. So, we’re going to get cracking with the next best thing. Instead of travelling to Belgium, join DirtFish on a journey to 1995.

Back then, the World Rally Championship was simmering nicely after a Spanish inquisition left Toyota excluded and Colin McRae and Carlos Sainz at loggerheads following a team orders spat which left the Madrid man leading the Lanark star home in Lloret de Mar.

Love it or loathe it, the contrived Catalunya result had teed-up an absolute thriller of a conclusion to the title race. It was an all-Subaru battle at the RAC Rally in Britain. Sainz versus McRae. Level on points, winner takes all.

DirtFish has been replaying the 1995 season to prepare us all for this moment, from Sainz’s shock injury to final stage drama in the penultimate round of the season in Spain.

Our #95Live effort will aim to be delivering the best ‘as-live’ coverage from November 19-22.

The coverage runs out across all of DirtFish’s social channels and, of course, right here on the DirtFish website.
