Bravery, fitness and adaptability are all tested to the max when you’re an overweight rally journalist like me, who’s Friday afternoon has suddenly turned into a forest exploration.
Finding crashed rally cars is never nice, but it is our duty to report and get to the scene if it is physically possible. That sparks some conflicting emotions, as while we never like to see somebody’s rally turn, we’d all be lying to you if we pretended we didn’t enjoy the adventure of making it there.
Today, it was the turn of Oliver Solberg who had rolled his Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 on the seventh stage of Rally Finland. Locating his GPS position, we worked out we could drive there. The question was: could we actually get there?
