Is WRC+ really changing rallying?

It’s a topic that’s resurfaced since Jari-Matti Latvala told DirtFish he “couldn’t drive the full” World Rally Championship anymore in this new video age.

WRC+ is the best friend of any young driver looking to learn the stages of the WRC, as onboard footage from every single test stretching back to 2014 are available for anyone with an active subscription to watch.

World champion across all but one of those seasons, Sébastien Ogier, has long found it his enemy however as he feels this access is giving away his secrets to his rivals – not that it often stopped Ogier from still coming out on top.

This week’s SPIN, The Rally Pod picked up on the topic – and there are some interesting opinions from former rally driver George Donaldson on the matter.

Stay tuned for chat on this year’s Safari Rally Kenya route, a mega WRC2 entry on next week’s Rally Portugal and memoirs from Donaldson’s 1988 title winning season.
