M-Sport reports “good week” as Loeb tests again

Team principal Richard Millener wouldn't give much away about the test

M-Sport Ford team principal Richard Millener has reported a positive and worthwhile week of testing in the French Alps. But that’s all he’s saying.

Actually, it’s not. He did say a little bit more. He did, for example, confirm Sébastien Loeb and Adrien Fourmaux were in the car. But he didn’t expand on what, exactly they were doing there and what their plans might – or might not – be for the future.

“I can’t exactly tell you they weren’t in the car can I?” Millener told DirtFish soon after the M-Sport trucks had turned north from the mountains.

“It’s been a good week. Really positive. We had Gus [Greensmith] and Adrien sharing the car on the first day, then Craig [Breen] on Wednesday and Séb [Loeb] yesterday (Thursday). Like I said, it was good. They all came away from there happy and positive – all the feedback [in the debriefs] was good.”

Using roads close to Gap, M-Sport ran Loeb across the Col des Garcinets and Breen over Col d’Espréault. While there was snow to a low level on the surrounding mountains, the roads for the Puma were dry and occasionally damp at either end of the day.

M-Sport’s final 2021 running for the Puma Rally1 Hybrid comes in a cold climate test next month before a return to the South of France for a pre-event set-up test ahead of the opening 2022 round in Monte Carlo.
