New signings are always big news in motorsport. Last year, Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari was huge. Oliver Solberg landing into planet Toyota for the 2026 World Rally Championship was a similarly big deal. Kind of.

But both pale into virtual insignificance when they compare to the driver joining Club DirtFish.

Welcome two-time World Rally champion and lifelong legend Marcus Grönholm.

This one really is something of a coup for us. Drivers don’t come much more entertaining than ‘Bosse.’ Or much faster. The big man’s going to tell us all of his stories and some of his secrets. What was the 206 WRC really like? And how did he set fastest times in a three-speed 307?

That’s just the start. There’s his time with Toyota, life alongside Richard Burns and Gilles Panizzi and, of course, his monumental fights with Sébastien Loeb. And what a time to start, two decades on from his sensational Monte Carlo Rally win. That victory was the perfect debut with M-Sport Ford, but it was also an event which caused Marcus some serious physical pain.

Why? Read on, right here.

And the name of the column? Well, it could only be three words, couldn’t it: Ay, ay and ay.
