Hyundai World Rally Championship driver Thierry Neuville will make his Race of Champions debut when he takes part in the event early next year.
After the success of last year’s event, the ROC organizer has decided to remain in Sweden for 2023, and several drivers have already confirmed their place including Formula 1 champions Mika Häkkinen and Sebastian Vettel.
But Neuville is the latest driver to have put his name in the mix.
It will be Neuville’s first time tackling Race of Champions, and the fact next year’s edition is on ice made the prospect of competing all the more tantalizing for him.
“I’m very happy to be part of the 2023 edition of the Race Of Champions,” said Neuville.
“It’s a race I have always wanted to do and I’m really looking forward to competing on snow and ice on the frozen Baltic sea alongside motorsport legends!
“Driving on that kind of surface promises to be a lot of fun and I hope I can use my experience from Rally Sweden to perform at the top.
“I know the competition will be tough but, for sure, I’m aiming for the win and I will give my best to put on a good show over the weekend in Pite Havsbad.”
Next year’s event will take place between January 28-29 – one week after the Monte Carlo Rally.
