Hyundai World Rally Championship driver Thierry Neuville will contest the Spa Rally in Belgium behind the wheel of a Group A BMW M3.

Neuville finished third in this year’s WRC, just 12 points shy of team-mate Ott Tänak, thanks to a victory on last weekend’s Rally Japan.

But Neuville’s rally season is far from over as he has entered the Spa Rally which concludes the Belgian Rally Championship in two weeks’ time (December 3-4).

He will drive an M3 recently purchased by his own LifeLive company in a bid to promote the rally cars the business will be hiring out to customers in 2023.

“The entire LifeLive team grew up alongside Thierry, participating with him in several rallies in Belgium,” said Dimitri Van Hoof, LifeLive team manager.

“Today we are ready to put forward our competences in this field, and it’s in Spa that we wish to prove our know-how. With Thierry, of course.”

“We are obviously delighted to be able to count on Thierry’s presence, who decided to join us, have fun and perform on our course, which is not only technical, but fast and extremely varied,” added Carolane Jupsin on behalf of DG Sport which is involved in the event.

“Further surprises will be revealed shortly, but let us wager that the fans will be more than over the moon with Thierry’s appearance in Belgium.”

Spa won’t be the first time Neuville has competed back home in Belgium, and not in a Hyundai.

He made three appearances on the Legend Boucles à Bastogne between 2017-19; the first time in a Porsche 911 before two appearances in his own Opel Corsa A.

Neuville also owns a Peugeot 306 Maxi Kit Car and drove it at this year’s Eifel Rally Festival in Germany.
