Sébastien Ogier has crashed out of the lead of Rally Italy Sardinia on the penultimate stage of Saturday.
It has been a disastrous afternoon for Ogier, who hadn’t had a straightforward stage since the second loop of Saturday’s running began, suffering an engine cut on both SS12 and SS13 due to water crossings.
His lead had been slashed heading into the second pass of Erula – Tula with Esapekka Lappi 4.3 seconds behind.
But very early on SS14 Ogier locked up and slipped off the road, his Toyota hanging off the edge of the road with the rear-left in the air.
