Sami Pajari has confirmed that Marko Salminen will be his co-driver for his first full season in the World Rally Championship, replacing Enni Mälkönen.
Pajari announced that he and Mälkönen were going their separate ways just after they clinched the WRC2 title in Japan, while a day later he was confirmed as a full-time Rally1 driver with Toyota.
The identity of his new co-driver was however unknown, until the Finn shared a post on Tuesday confirming Salminen would be joining him – starting with this weekend’s Monza Rally Show where Pajari will drive a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2.
Pajari has worked with Salminen (46) before, as the pair claimed the Junior WRC title together in 2021.
Since, Salminen has been part of Toyota’s setup – co-driving for TGR Challenge Program drivers Nao Otake and this year Yuki Yamamoto.
Salminen also has some top class experience, sitting with Teemu Suninen for the first half of the 2019 season with M-Sport Ford.
