Toyota driver Sami Pajari has been retired from Acropolis Rally Greece for a second time – his issues from Friday unable to be fully fixed in time for Saturday’s six stages.

The Finn had been running fifth overall after five Greek stages, but parked his GR Yaris Rally1 on the way to SS6 with a technical issue.

With liquid seen on the ground, it transpired there was an issue with the fuel system – something that also afflicted M-Sport’s Mãrtiņš Sesks later in the day.

But while Sesks was able to restart the event on Saturday, Pajari checked out of parc fermé (so that he can stil participate on Sunday) but didn’t leave service in Lamia.

He explained: “We were hoping to get the car back and running for Saturday, but issue in the fuel system could not yet be fixed fully in service.

“This means we had to retire the car again. The goal is still to rejoin the rally if the issues are fully fixed come Sunday.”
