WRC2 driver Sami Pajari will not start the Monte Carlo Rally, ruled out due to ill health.

After two seasons in Junior WRC, earning the 2021 title, Pajari steps up to a full WRC2 program in 2023 behind the wheel of a brand-new Toksport Škoda Fabia RS Rally2.

But Pajari won’t tackle the season opener as he fell ill on Wednesday.

A social media statement read: “Sad news! Unfortunately Sami has become sick during the night and is unfit to start the event. We will keep you posted on Sami’s condition.”

Pajari hadn’t nominated Monte Carlo as one of his WRC2 points scoring rounds, so although he misses out on the experience it won’t affect his championship campaign.
