If there’s one thing everyone can agree on as the World Rally Championship makes its African adventure, it’s that anything can happen.

Previous form? Previous achievements? Forget it. On a rally as unique and as demanding as Safari Rally Kenya, genuinely anybody on the start list could walk away as the winner.

Predicting a narrative, therefore, is pointless. But however round seven of the season plays out, there’ll certainly be no shortage of stories – potentially in the battle to become 2023 World Rally champion too!

Lisa O’Sullivan hosts David Evans, George Donaldson and Luke Barry as conversation on this week’s SPIN, The Rally Pod turns to how important Safari could be in the championship, what to expect from the stages and what can be made of Hyundai’s decision to hand Teemu Suninen a pair of Rally1 drives and welcome Emil Lindholm into the team.
