Six new cars added to EA WRC game

The 'Hard Chargers' content pack will be released next week

Six new cars have been added to the World Rally Championship’s official video game, EA SPORTS WRC, via the ‘Hard Chargers’ content pack.

The final instalment of DLC for the game launched in late 2023, the new content will be available to play from next week (Tuesday March 25).

Included are six brand-new vehicles, headlined by the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC Thierry Neuville, Ott Tänak and co. campaigned during the 2021 WRC season.

Designed to “delve into the most iconic aspects” of the WRC “from the 1970s to the present day”, other news cars include an historic Ford Escort RS1600 Mk1, the original 1999 Ford Focus WRC, two Rally4 machines in a Renault Clio and Opel Corsa, as well as Renault’s Clio Rally3.

Two new stage locations are also included, Harvati in Greece and Umeå in Sweden, as well as 18 new liveries encompassing Peugeot’s original design for its 206 WRC in 1999, Marcus Grönholm’s initial Ford colors of 2006 and the iconic Michelin Pilot Sport scheme Malcolm Wilson sported on his Ford Escort RS Cosworth in the mid ’90s.

The ‘Hard Chargers’ content pack can be purchased independently, or as part of the full WRC 24 expansion pack which includes Poland and Latvia, updated Rally1 cars and a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, as well as the French-themed ‘Le Maestros’ content pack which brings new stages in Monte Carlo and Portugal and new cars including a Citroën C3 WRC, Citroën Xsara Kit Car, Citroën DS3 WRC and Volkswagen Polo R WRC.
