Dani Sordo will compete against Kris Meeke in this year’s Portuguese Rally Championship, driving a Hyundai i20 N Rally2 co-driven by Candido Carrera.
With Meeke switching to a Toyota for 2025, a seat in the Hyundai Portugal i20 N Rally2 opened up and has been filled by Meeke’s good friend and former team-mate.
Both drivers will compete for the Sports & You outfit, with their season beginning on Rally Serras de Fafe on March 7/8.
“I am very excited and strongly motivated to compete with Team Hyundai Portugal and I really want to start the Portuguese championship on many of the sections that I know well,” said Sordo.
“I’m ready for the start of the championship and I want to fight for victories and titles behind the wheel of the Hyundai i20 N Rally 2.”

The news means 2025 could potentially be Sordo’s first as a non-World Rally Championship driver in 20 years.
Since 2018 Sordo has been a part-time driver for Hyundai, but team principal Cyril Abiteboul told DirtFish last month that he wants to “really focus” on the three full-time drivers.
