As you’ll likely have already seen, here at DirtFish we’ve been celebrating the story of the 1995 World Rally Championship season through our 1995 Rewind reports – which culminate this weekend with as-live coverage from the RAC Rally.
But how about reliving Colin McRae’s title success in the virtual world?
As part of our celebration, DirtFish have worked with our partners at Codemasters to pay homage to the amazing story of McRae’s triumph – the first for a British driver in the WRC – with this retelling of the title battle, from Monte Carlo to the RAC.
The story includes in-game footage of McRae’s Subaru Impreza 555, in all its sideways glory, on stages from six of that year’s eight rallies – including Rally New Zealand, the scene of McRae’s first win of 1995, and the RAC on which McRae famously secured the title.
The footage is taken from the Flat Out Pack for DiRT Rally 2.0, which includes 40 scenarios from McRae’s career and some of his iconic cars – including the Subaru Legacy RS and Subaru Impres S4 Rally.
