It’s a story that began in 1997. This particular chapter was first penned in 2017. But the World Rally Car’s time as the star of the World Rally Championship show is coming to a close.
Last weekend’s Rally Finland was the final time WRC fans will ever see these cars in competition at the highest level on gravel. There are still two rounds of the 2021 season to run, but with both being staged on asphalt it meant Finland was a poignant moment.
