Who won the World Rally Championship’s summer festival of speed? Who was the king of a gravel grand prix run to the north and south of the Baltic Sea?
The easy answer would reflect on the men who made history in Jyväskylä a week last Sunday. When Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen crossed the finish line in Ouninpohja for the second time, they logged an average speed of 80.74mph (129.94kph). That’s a record, the fastest ever round of the WRC – eclipsing Kris Meeke and Paul Nagle’s 2016 record of 78.68mph (126.62kmph) on the same event.
