Nitro Rallycross has announced the latest addition to its broadcast roster with Jarod DeAnda joining Andrew Coley in the commentary box for the new series.
DeAnda has been a fixture in America’s car culture scene for a number of years, and is perhaps best known for his work with Formula Drift where he has been in the booth since the series’ inception. He’s no stranger to the world of rallycross either, having previously been an announcer for Global Rallycross.
“I am here as a host and an announcer but also as a huge fan,” said DeAnda. “With Nitro Rallycross, Travis Pastrana and the Thrill One team are definitely turning it up.”
He added that NRX is “by the racers [and] for the racers… it’s the ideal scenario,” and a “total sensory overload.”
“[It is] the convergence of action sports and motorsports,” he said. “That’s where I’ve always lived.”
DeAnda joins Coley, the World RX lead commentator and announcer of the first two NRX events at the Nitro World Games in 2018 and ’19.
“Innovation fuels every aspect of NRX, and that includes the broadcast presentation,” said Joe Carr, CEO of NRX parent company Thrill One Sports and Entertainment. “We want the on-air commentary to exude the same energy and excitement as the racing on the track.”
As well as revealing the next piece of the broadcast team puzzle, NRX has also confirmed the next international broadcast partners for the series.
Sky New Zealand, Viaplay Sport for Nordic and Baltic territories as well as Poland, and SportsMax in the Caribbean join Tencent (China), beIN SPORTS (Middle East and North Africa) SuperSport (sub-Sahara Africa), and of course NBC Peacock and NBCSN in the US on NRX’s broadcaster roster which promises a reach of over 150 countries worldwide.
“This growing global presence reflects the strong appetite for Nitro Rallycross’ high-adrenaline motorsports vision,” said Carr.
