After a lengthy hiatus, top-level rallycross finally made its return at Holjes last weekend with RallyX Nordic’s All-Star Magic Weekend.
The event, which encompassed the opening two rounds of the regional series’ Supercar and Lites categories as well as CrossCar and a new ‘Legends’ race, was held behind closed doors owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Fear not though, we’ve picked out our favorite images from the four-day event to paint the perfect picture for you.
Olsbergs’ Stormtrooper Fiesta ST returned to the site of its shock World RX triumph from a year ago. Oliver Eriksson was at the controls on this occasion.
The stars of tomorrow had a chance to shine in CrossCar junior and senior races.
No spectators, no problem. A four-day livestream meant that fans got to witness all of the action, despite being kept clear of the grandstands.
How many titles? How many stories? The rallycross superstars of yesteryear dusted off their race suits for a unique ‘Legends’ race.
Sideways Solberg. A familiar sight? Of course it is. Oliver Solberg returned to rallycross for the first time since winning the 2018 RallyX Nordic crown, once again driving his father’s double World Championship-winning DS3.
It might have been his top-class debut but Ben-Philip Gundersen starred all weekend; bad luck and technical gremlins costing him shots at good results.
The hugely popular Fraser McConnell shone on his first Supercar outing. He made the most of the rain to lock in a final berth on Sunday.
A brace of Lites rounds served as the perfect teaser to the category’s final season on the World RX bill.
Reigning RallyX Nordic champion Robin Larsson showed his World Championship credentials all weekend, giving the superstar wildcards a run for their money in every round.
Wet weather on Sunday brought with it its own set of challenges, not least for the featherlight rear-wheel-drive CrossCars.
