Defending World Rallycross Champions Team Hansen has unveiled its new livery for the 2020 season.
The squad – which won the teams’ title last year with siblings Timmy and Kevin Hansen and won the drivers’ title with the former – retains its driver line-up and cars again this year, but has updated the look of its Peugeot 208s for the season ahead.
“I think the new livery looks amazing,” said Kevin Hansen.
“We’ve tried to make the two liveries look more similar this year, so it looks more like the cars belong to the same team.
“We are the reigning world champions so we need to present a united front even more this year.
“Mine especially looks really great!”
Kevin has also switched race numbers from #71 to #9 for this season; a decision he has taken in order to hopefully boost his qualifying draw fortunes.
“I’m switching to #9 for only one reason this year: the qualifying grid draw. #71 has not performed well in these draws for the past few years, so I felt it was time to try and change that.
“Hopefully now with #9, which has the best average grid position for Q1 grid draws, this will help make things a little easier for Q1. I’ll always keep #71 in my heart and use that number anywhere else I race, but I need to do everything possible to optimise my performance.”
A restructured calendar due to the COVID-19 pandemic means the Hansens are for the first time beginning a World RX campaign at their home event, Höljes.
However, there won’t be any home support in the grandstands for Team Hansen or any of the other Swedish drivers like Johan Kristoffersson or Robin Larsson this weekend, as spectators are banned from the season opener.
