JC Raceteknik has become the first team to unveil its look for the 2020 World Rallycross Championship season.
The cars are to be driven by reigning European RX champion Robin Larsson and Jānis Baumanis, and feature a radically different look to the Swedish team’s previous efforts with a predominantly blue livery with red graphics denoting the team’s title sponsor KYB.
For World RX race winner Larsson, his return to rallycross’ top level comes off the back of a triumphant European RX campaign with the team in which he took his second title in the series with four wins from five starts.
Baumanis meanwhile joins the team after spending the last four seasons driving Ford Fiestas for World RX Team Austria and STARD. He took a long-awaited maiden podium finish in Norway last year with a third place, and followed that up two rounds by finishing second in Canada.
JC Raceteknik is set to be the only outfit running Audi S1s in this year’s world championship after Monster Energy RX Cartel’s decision to depart the German brand to team up with Renault privateer GC Kompetition.
The team will run with support from Mattias Ekström’s EKS operation which built the cars and previously ran them with factory Audi backing.
