Three of Toyota’s five-strong army of GR Yaris Rally1s entered to Rally Finland will sport special liveries, with those of Kalle Rovanperä and Sébastien Ogier emulating their respective road car special editions.
At this year’s World Rally Championship season opener in Monte Carlo, Toyota unveiled two new variants of the GR Yaris its Rally1 car is based on: an Ogier edition decked out in a matte stealth grey color and a Rovanperä variant sporting a three-tone livery that apes the Toyota Gazoo Racing color scheme – but remixed by the world champion’s graphic designer friend Henri Liupakka.
Those liveries will now appear on their respective Rally1 cars for the first time, while team-mates Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta will retain the standard Toyota livery.
Sami Pajari also has a special livery for his Rally1 debut. His Yaris will sport the same white color scheme that features on the TGR Challenge Program Rally2 cars, which his team says “highlights TGR-WRT’s commitment to supporting young rally talent.”
