Does Lancia’s rally return come with a negative?

This week's SPIN, The Rally Pod discusses the implications of Lancia's comeback for the WRC and more

Hype is the word. When a manufacturer that’s won more World Rally Championship titles than any other returns to rallying, nobody could have expected anything less.

Last week, the hype hit fever pitch as Lancia officially unveiled its all-new Ypsilon HF Rally4 to the world – with its homegrown Italian World Rally champion Miki Biasion there front and center.

Talk about goosebumps.

But within all of the excitement, could there be a drawback? Should Lancia’s decision actually spark alarm bells to ring down the corridors of the FIA and WRC Promoter?

Fresh from attending last week’s unveil, Alasdair Lindsay joins Luke Barry on this week’s episode of SPIN, The Rally Pod to discuss exactly that, as well as Peugeot Sport’s new rally machine, Hyundai and Toyota’s unexpected collaboration and the state of the WRC driver market.

Look out for the pair’s 2025 predictions, and let us know who you think will drive where in the comments below!
