The American Rally Association Presented by DirtFish National Championship will be moving to an eight-round calendar for the 2023 season.

The championship will include all of the rounds from 2022, with the exception of the Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally in September.

That event has been dropped due to continued issues with getting permission for stage roads, although the championship has said it will reconsider that decision if the event can transition in a new leadership team after the passing of James Monks and work through the ongoing road usage and permitting issues.

This change also means the best-six-of-nine format will change to a best-six-of-eight format, with only two drop rounds instead of the current three in the championship.

The season will start off February 10-11 in Atlanta, Michigan, moving from the third weekend of February to the second, keeping with the tradition of North America’s most challenging snow rally starting off the US rally season.

From there the series move on to the fun and fast roads of the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood in its usual place on March 17-18.

DirtFish’s home event, Olympus Rally kicks off the West Coast swing of the series on April 22-23, and just a month later on May 19-21, the series hosts its first of two three day events with the Oregon Trail Rally.

The other three-day rally follows Oregon Trail, as the Southern Ohio Forest Rally enters its fourth year of being on the national calendar June 8-10.

One of the most technical rallies in the ARA, SOFR will be a stark contrast to the high speeds and rocky roads of the New England Forest Rally which follows it on the schedule, taking place July 14-15.

The Ojibwe Forests Rally moves back to its usual weekend in 2023 taking place August 25-26, and of course, the season caps off with its eighth round the the Lake Superior Performance Rally October 13-14.
