For the first time this season, fans will be permitted to attend a round of the American Rally Association presented by DirtFish National series on next month’s Southern Ohio Forest Rally.

Held on June 11-12, the Chillicothe based event will be the fourth of the 2021 season and has attracted the usual star quality in Subaru Motorsports USA drivers Travis Pastrana, Brandon Semenuk and Hoonigan’s Ken Block.

The rally was a new addition to the ARA National calendar last year and was the first to run after the first global coronavirus lockdown. Barry McKenna won in a Škoda Fabia R5+.

In a statement on social media, event organizers revealed that spectators will be allowed to attend this year’s rally, completely free of charge.

“Make plans now to come back to SOFR and have a whole lotta fun,” the statement read.

“Friday will be in the Chillicothe area, Saturday in the Portsmouth area so you can book those hotels, Airbnb, etc.

“We will have a few printed spectator guides this year as well as a downloadable version via QR code.

“The service in the forests is usually not great so make sure you download what you can before heading out to help you along your way!”

Spectators are gradually being welcomed back to the side of rally stages, with organizers of next week’s Rally Portugal in the World Rally Championship also catering for fan access.
