WRC+ streaming platform adds ERC in 2022

WRC Promoter's takeover of ERC will lead to all of its rallies being available to watch live at no extra cost on WRC All Live

Full live coverage for the European Rally Championship will be included within the WRC+ package from next year.

Having won the rights to take over the running of ERC from 2022, WRC Promoter intended to align it with the World Rally Championship and believed it would benefit from the same type of live coverage that WRC currently receives, DirtFish learned last month.

Currently all WRC stages are shown live on the WRC+ platform and WRC Promoter has now announced that, rather than having its own platform, ERC will be included within the WRC+ subscription.

It means that every special stage from each of the eight rallies scheduled for 2022 will receive live coverage, and a dedicated presenting team will provide commentary and interviews over the duration of each rally.

And like WRC, ERC will also benefit from real-time GPS and live maps on the platform.

The announcement will be welcome news to current subscribers of WRC+ as it means they won’t need to pay for any additional content when the service begins next year.

In addition to the live coverage, WRC Promoter has also confirmed that an archive of exclusive videos, and documentaries relating to ERC will be included.
