The 2024 World Rally Championship calendar has been confirmed at Thursday’s meeting of the FIA World Motor Sport Council.
As in 2023, next year’s schedule comprises 13 events but two event changes.
As previously telegraphed, Latvia replaces Estonia in July and Rally Poland is back for the first time since 2017, replacing Rally México on the 13-round 2024 WRC roster.
The other significant change for next season is Safari Rally Kenya moving from June to March, filling the date slot left by México.
From Rally Finland in August through to Rally Japan in November, the schedule is broadly the same as this year.
Commenting on the calendar, WRC Promoter managing director Jona Siebel said: “We’re eagerly anticipating another action-packed season in 2024 with a calendar that not only celebrates our esteemed traditions, but also propels us into an exciting future.
“Our return to Poland and our debut in Latvia underscore our commitment to delivering a fresh and exciting WRC experience for fans and competitors alike.”
FIA road sport director Andrew Wheatley added: “With true classic events, including Monte-Carlo, Sweden, Safari, Portugal, Finland or the Acropolis, emerging rallies like Croatia, Chile and Japan and new innovative events such as Latvia and the Central European Rally, we can look forward to another successful FIA World Rally Championship season in 2024.
“We’re assured of a good variety of strong rallies over four continents and welcome a return of the sport to the enthusiastic fans in Central and Eastern Europe.”
The schedule for the European Rally Championship is expected next month, with Junior WRC dates also anticipated in the coming weeks.
