The archive at Girardo & Co. is a quite extraordinary place. It’s packed, wall-to-wall, with some of the world’s finest rally photography. And, as Mr Auriol here shows, there’s much more than just cars.
What’s going on here? Auriol has just guided his Jolly Club-run Lancia Delta Integrale 16v to third place on the 1991 Rally Argentina and is now discussing the last week with a member of the press back in Europe live from Villa Carlos Paz.
And he’d have a lot to talk about. Auriol’s miserable run of luck through 1991 had continued in South America with a blown turbo costing him a couple of minutes and any hope of a win.
