Adrien Fourmaux has now decided which World Rally Championship he will drive for next year and agreed terms – but won’t reveal which manufacturer he will represent.

WRC silly season has been primarily driven by where Fourmaux ends up amid interest from Hyundai to drive its third car, leaving the futures of Hyundai’s current part-time drivers up in the air.

Fourmaux confirmed to DirtFish that he has now made his choice of whether to stay at M-Sport or leave for another team for 2025 – but wouldn’t confirm which decision he’d made.

Asked when he would know which team he’d be driving for in 2025, Fourmaux told DirtFish: “I know, but you will know soon.”

Toyota is also yet to confirm its driver lineup for the 2025 season. Its team principal Jari-Matti Latvala suggested Fourmaux was not on its radar and they were instead focused on their existing driver lineup.

“We haven’t had any discussions [with Fourmaux] really at the moment,” said Latvala. “We have been having some discussions with the drivers but not so much with Adrien.”

Fourmaux has scored four podiums so far this season in an M-Sport Ford Puma Rally1

Hyundai therefore remains Fourmaux’s primary suitor; the Alzenau-based team had previously offered the Frenchman a drive for the 2024 season but declined its offer.

“Last year we had a really nice discussion with Hyundai,” said Fourmaux. “But it was only a half-season [on offer] and I was not really so interested. In the end it was good to do the full season this year.”

In his full-time season with M-Sport, Fourmaux has scored four podium finishes and 140 points; all three Hyundai part-timers (Esapekka Lappi, Dani Sordo and Andreas Mikkelsen) have registered a combined 106 points.

M-Sport team principal Richard Millener told DirtFish: “He’s doing a fantastic job and it would be crazy for other people not to be interested in him. So we’ll have to wait and see.”

Asked to put a percentage figure on the chance of him staying, Millener added: “I’m always confident, so I’d say over 50.”
